Farmer Apple Pie
Crust:
2 1/2 cups flour
1 Tbsp.(heaping) sugar
1 tsp. salt1 cup shortening
1 egg yolk
scant 2/3 cup milk

Mix together first three ingredients. Put the egg yolk in a measuring cup and add milk until it reaches 2/3 cup.
Add to crust. Mix together. Divide dough in half. Roll one half out to fit a large cookie sheet.
Ingredients
2 cups handfuls corn flakes
8-10 thinly sliced apples
1 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
egg white

powdered sugar and water mixed together for glaze (small amount of butter added, optional)
Directions
Add 2 handfuls crushed cornflakes.

Add sliced apples to pan.

Mix 1 cup sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon - sprinkle over apples. Roll out other half of crust. Place on top of apples and pinch crusts together firmly. Beat egg white until stiff. Spread on top crust. Bake 15-20 minutes at 375 degrees, then turn down to 350 degrees for 40 minutes more. Frost when warm.
